Our trademark Opera Evening Shows
With a different programme debuted during our Summer Tour each year, our Opera Evenings our 75-minutes of best-of hits, with music from Mozart, Handel, Stravinsky, or Britten, performed alongside Bernstein, Gershwin, or Tom Lehrer.
17 - 21 June 2025, Layer Marney Tower (Essex)
The festival also includes talks, chamber concerts, and showcases, all hosted at the beautiful Layer Marney Tower.
A dramatic, semi-staged retelling of Handel's Messiah with 8 singers, performed anywhere from intimate 70-seat halls, to incredible cathedrals.
Specially curated concerts in beautiful spaces. Enjoy the last of the summer warmth, clear sea air, idyllic country villages and pubs, and sensational seafood at our recommended restaurants.
March - May 2025
An annual run of intimate concerts, held at The Old Library in Colchester across March, April, and May.
After the success of our semi-staged winter Messiah, James Gilchrist (one of the leading evangelists in the world) will join a selection of the UK's finest singers and period specialist players to perform the earliest and most expressive of Bach's biblical Passion's.
From chamber performances to solo recitals, reduced Opera Evenings, or even fully revived shows, our singers and players are available for any occasion on any scale.
For performances outside the UK, we travel by train.

We offer chamber performances and recitals year-round, as well as a reduced version of our Opera Evening programme with 3 singers and piano, with soprano and piano, or with voice and cello.
An annual 2-3 month tour of 40+ UK and European venues. 20 performances of our flagship opera, a revival of one of our hit productions, and 25 performances of our unique Opera Evening (with a new programme created each year).
