Cambridge University, 1972. Will bookish undergrads Ferrando and Guglielmo win their bet that their sweethearts will remain true?
Started one Saturday in Autumn 2000 as a single music day within the medieval whitewashed walls of Fingringhoe Church in North Essex, the Roman River Festival has grown over the last 23 years, becoming a vibrant and diverse festival of music.
The festival brings a diverse range of musicians – internationally renowned classical players, beatboxers, choreographers, or digital artists – to intimate and unusual venues around the Essex coast. It focusses on new commissions and collaborations, and, increasingly, on work with young audiences and artists.
We offer a reduced version of our Opera Evening programme each summer with 3 singers and piano, with soprano and piano, or with voice and cello.
An annual 2/3 month tour of 30-35 UK and European venues. 12+ performances of our flagship opera as follows, a revival of one of our hit productions, and 25 performances of our unique Opera Evening (a new show each year)
